Thanks to features like full remote operation, three separate mailboxes, automatic time/date stamp, and memo recording, the machine functions as a complete message center for busy homes or small offices. With subscription through your local service, you can access call waiting/caller ID information and return calls at the touch of a button, using the display-and-dial feature. The phone also offers Sony's jog dial, which lets you scroll through and select numbers from the 50-number speed-dial memory; three one-touch speed dial buttons also provide instant access for your most frequently-dialed numbers. Permanent flash memory stores speed-dial numbers and answering machine messages indefinitely, so don't fret about sudden power outages. The handset utilizes a durable NiCD battery, which lasts up to six hours of talk time or 10 days of standby time before it needs a recharge--make sure to let it run all the way down to avoid memory effect.
